I always use 12g battery wire, such as Deans 12g wire (or Deans Wet Noodle). Works well for me, but I don't know what the other guys here use.
Mike can get you some. It's not that expensive, one buck per foot I think.

I was wondering if it's worth going to 10g for motor wires and battery wires,or is that over kill?

Can't hurt. But don't extend the wire's too long if your going to extend them.

I had a friend that made a 6x6 Pede, complete with 8 10,000mah "D" cells, yes, D's. They made the thing super heavy, but at the same time, all of those cells fed the three motors, and he used three wires for each connection. Said it was freakin' unstoppable, and everything kept real cool because of the triple wiring job. :D

Wow a $1 per foot, I get 6 cents per foot for 12g wire at my local electronics store.

Mike's price on wire is actually rather good. Tower Hobbies charges $1.42/ft. As for electronics store wire, I got some, but the strands are HUGE and don't bend easily. Thin strand wire like Deans wire is a necessity in RC (IMO).
