Losi LST Brushless conversion! NEU Motor - 6S - MMM - 03.09.2009, 12:02 PM

Hi Guys,

Since november I'm converting my LST to brushless. (Yes it takes pretty long, but anyway, I'll just post it here) There's already a topic about my LST on a forum in the Netherlands, but I just wanted to introduce my LST also here on this forum.

I'll copy the most things from the dutch forum and translate it. Ok, so here it comes: My Losi LST! (It's not finished 100% yet, but I'll update it ofcourse)

Specs:

- *Losi LST2
- *NEU 1521 1Y 1557Kv Motor - This changed, it's a Castle/Neu 2200kv motor now.
- NEU Energy 25-50C 2x3S 4900mAh LiPo
- *Mamba Monster Max ESC
- *RC-Monster 2 Speed pinion adapter 5mm bore - This also changed, it's a TDRacing pinion adapter (I really like it)
- Self-made motor mount
- Self-made battery tray
- *Acoms Hayabusa 2,4GHz

The things I already have got a star (*)

I bought the LST on eBay.

22.10.08
Received the LST

26.10.08
I looked at it. This truck is HUDGE! The tyres are HUGE, the shocks are HUGE and the car is HUGE. I really like this truck!

Some pics of it:

Finally, after a long time a update. I made a motor mount for my LST. Yes, it was very cheap I found that piece of aluminium somewhere, I bent it, drilled 2 holes in it(Yes there are already 500 holes, but they don't fit), and the motor fits perfectly!
It's not finished 100%, because I've to make some long sized holes in the underside from the motor mount, so I can also put other pinions on it.

I hope this motor mount will be strong enough, but I think it will.

So, this far I'm. More updates will come!

Hey, looks like a good start! You will find the motor mount will flex... best to make it out of extruded angle, or just pony up the 70 bucks for the tdr mount.

I made my own mount, out of thicker material than your, and it flexed enough to cause gear mesh issues. If you can flex the mount at all by hand, it is too weak...

Otherwise your setup looks good...

Hi Lincpimp aka also brushless LST owner!

I can't flex the motor mount by hand, but I'm only 15, so I haven't got much muscles But my father helped yesterday to make the motor mount, and he also couldn't bend it with his hands. I/my dad bent it with a hammer and a other thing, and it was pretty hard to bent it. (I forget the English word for that other thing. Here a pic of it: http://www.proximedia.com/catalogue/photos/169786_a.jpg)
And if it will bend I'll buy me the TDRacing motor mount I think...

Well if it is sturdy give it a try... I had decent success with my homemade one, until I jumped it hard.

I do love the LST, I think you will too.
