The hvmaxx is a good starter or intro into the world of BL setups, but they dont do justice to just how awesome, fast and powerful a decent BL conversion can be, not even close.

Cant help too much with radio issues saddly, but the hvmaxx would be the latest model if it had black heatsinks. If its purple, it would be an older model- does the motor have a 3.2mm or 5mm shaft? if its the smaller size, its an even older model. LVC stands for Low Voltage Cutoff, and is essential for use with lipo batteries to prevent them from over discharging. Im guessing you use nimhs- again, they dont do jutice to a BL system, it really needs lipos to show off its potential.
