AMbient was 64*F but a bit windy. I'm also running a 50/15 spur/pinion combo with 30K oil in the CD. This is difinitely color than my old setup of 10K cd oil.

Scoops? I don't know about that .
Happy birthday Lito

I thought about going to 30K centre, just incase the heat is coming from the front unloading too much. I suppose anything is worth a go as I can't see myself doing a 45min race with those temps after 20mins and only going half throttle. I am going to order a RCM mount so the 48 stock nitro spur can fit in without milling the chassis This would put a much less load on the motor and in turn hopefully cool things down aswell, just means I will be metal to metal on the spur and pinion

The air scoops I was picturing in my mind were similar to what you see on jet fighters, I thought not only would it suit a purpose, but look cool too

so I tried the 18 tooth pinion today. I was running in a field with short grass and after about 10mins the motor was hot, I am thinking at least 160 degs and the fan was spinning on the MMM, Lipos were pretty warm. I have since put the 16 tooth back on and will try that tommorrow, the grass certainly wasnt helping any. My FP 6s 5000 pack also only lasted 15mins so the motor was pulling it pretty hard

I bought these a couple sets of OOC Scoops for when it warms up here. Summers get brutal humid/hot/stagnant air here and I need lots of airflow...Thought they would look cool painted black or something. I also bought some of their stainless grill screen. It works great to cover up the stock body nitro hole in the windsheild for a summer lid. ( SS-mesh is good for esc fan covers too). Just an idea to keep the Green body cool looking

Thank you jayjay, that's what I was looking for, that will give me my jet plane look and keep me slightly cooler

I have been looking at injecting my own, but it's soooooooo much easier to buy and cheaper than getting all the product for two little scoops

Thought I'd give a little update as to where the beast is at, since everyone is updating at the moment I didn't want to be left out

I was having a few issues trying to get the temps down to a resonable area that I was happy with after 10-15 mins at the track. Well I reduced the timing to 0 (thanks to the guys that gave me the heads up on that one) and played with the throttle curve so she doesn't gas it at the start, this dropped the temps by 20 degrees F straight away..........NICE Happy with that.

I went a little further and cut a big hole in the windscreen and added a piece of lexan with cloth tape, so the airflow can now be directed to motor and ESC, I know it's a bit rough looking but the results out-do the design and it only added 10 grams I couldn't get over 120 if I tried at the track and after 10 or so WOT passes at the park, at least 80 meters each, hit 130 tops............I am Very happy with that and I haven't even changed the centre diff fluid yet

Here's a pic of my masterpiece

One word........."WOW" is all I can say about RC-Monster and the purchase I made I purchased the motor mount on Wednesday last week and it turned up on my doorstep today, less than a week from the day it was sent. That is outstanding, most of my international purchases take at least 10 days so I was extremely impressed to get the mount this quick. A big thank you to Mike that is for sure

Here it is, not going to be in that wrapping for too long

In between bits and pieces I managed to get the mount in, very nice and a great fit I kept the bottom Losi mount as it blocked the holes in the chassis where the spur and flywheel went (on the nitro side), just had to do a bit of Dremeling for the perfect fit. I also put 30k in the center to see if I can get the temps down some more and to see if I can have less unloading of the front (which is a given) without the wheelies. I think I will get some 15k and 20k to try aswell.
