UBEC is an external BEC device that takes power from the main battery and regulates it down to 6v for use with the receiver. It replaces a receiver battery pack or the controller's BEC.
People here don't seem to know much about brushless, huh? You might change your mind on that if you look around a bit. There are some awesome people here that know a LOT about brushless, but maybe you are expecting too much without asking the right questions.
