I have the slipperential in a RC8T. I havent tried setting it up with mechanical brakes though. How would putting the disks on the outdrives effect where the slipperential contacts the top plate. if you go to the the first post in the "where does it work" thread you can see it installed in my RC8T. I did note that I had to take a small amount of material off of the top plate , but it was a very small amount. I didt even need the dremel, just used a hobby knife.

Yes, pictures would help. I read your post 5 times tryuing to figure out what you mean and I cant understand how the mechanical brakes would make a difference yet.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

yeah, the brakes arent affecting the top plate issues. maybe i am doing something wrong. i will try it again and take some pics here in just a bit. did you take out material on the underneath of the top plate or did you just make the spur gear hole larger?

i just looked at your pics and it looks awesome. i have the rc8 carbon top plate on my setup so that is the difference. the plastic top diff has those little "legs" on it that elevate it a bit higher. unfortunately i dont still have that part but i will get it to work. just need to spend some time with it but i will take some pics still to show what i mean.

actually that just gave the most obvious idea; to make 4 small shims so that the top plate sits higher, duh. idk why i didnt think of that simple solution before. now all i got to do is get some of mikes brakes when they come out. my homemade discs will work but arent the prettiest.
