Hyper 9E

Just thought I'd show off my new Hyper 9E (it was on ebay a few weeks ago). Not much conversion on my part, but I'm sure people want to see it up close.

I'm running:

-A Medusa 36-60-2000 motor (doesn't look like there's much room for anything longer, a 70 maybe...)
-CC MMM V3
-Flightpower Evo 25 4350mAh 4S
-Futaba BLS-451
-Spektrum DX3R + Receiver


There's some really neat ideas on this chassis, like the 'centre' diff being right at the back, the proper radio box underneath the ESC mount, the fact that it's a completely new chassis plate - not with any nitro holes. The new big-bores it comes with - they look like they're about 20mm diameter!

Notice that the centre diff is split horizontally for quick access - which is nice.

IIRC the shocks are 17mm but certainly beefy...

I think the outside diameter is 20mm - but inside you are definately right (17mm).

How flexible is the chassis? I guess with the two ribs in the chassis it does not flex much?!?!

There's barely any flex at all - more along the lines of a 1/10 electric buggy - no flex, but let the suspension do the talking, or something

Which ones? If it's the centre you're after, it's just one very long thick dogbone, and at the back there is a centre diff outdrive look-a-like coming out of the diff, and a U-shaped bracket as the centre diff outdrive to go over that.

Looks really nice, how long is the center driveshaft? RTR weight?

Centre Driveshaft is about 20cm long, weight (without bodyshell) is 3360g

How does the weight balance (L/R & F/R) feel to you with Motor and Battery in there?

It feels pretty well balanced front to back and side to side, better than my 8ight conversion anyway.

Very nice. Figured someone from here would get it. Was kicking myself for not bidding at the end what I saw the price it went for. Should be about the same when it actually hits the states though. Nitrohouse has them listed for $449.

Anyways how long is the battery tray? I ordered a neu 4300 6s pack and want to make sure it will fit. Also what size is the spur? I assume it will have a 40t like the nitro? Hoping larger will fit cause I really would like to put in a slipper or losi smartdiff?

Yeah, to be honest it should go to someone from the UK, because what I got it for was about Trade price + VAT (predicted), RRP would have been about $650 (equivalent). You get stuff so cheap in the US!

The battery tray is 175mm long (might stretch to 178mm - that is absolute maximum though!). Width is 46mm and you can have practically any height due to the bodyshell design.

Spur is a 40T, and you could fit probably up to a 44/46T in there - main problem though is that it uses very small diff cases (short ones), you'd be hard pressed to fit a bigger one in there - it also uses small outdrive bearings.
