but do you really need dual 1527s?

The 1527 is one hell of a motor, and with a low kv and some decent voltage it should be good(?)

Time for some Glasses Ben... I am running a pair of 1521 motors... I have a 1727 2y, but that will be run in the stretched savage (not the little one I am doing, the baja 5t size one that is under wraps). I plan to run that on 10-12s lipo with a lutach esc (by the time I get finished with the build he should have something appropriate).

My reasoning is that I have the 1521 motors, and paid less than 100 bucks for them () and they will put out about the same power as a 2215 motor. I also have 10s worth of 4500 30c lipos, (actually have 14s but no esc to run that) and with 12t pinions the baja will do around 50mph. 2 turnigy hv escs cost me 250, and that is it for equipment. The motor mount will run 50-60 bucks to make, and the side and bottom braces can be done by me. Won't be a spiffy as Mike's stuff, but I like making my own things, and I doubt it would be worth his time to make a twin 15 series mount for a baja.
