Really cool transmission - no fixed gears

im failing to see how that design works...from the animation...seems to me like the ball stays in the same position ....jus tilts it..


Built a dual cone CVT, and althought cool, decided to dump it for a 2speed transmission for my application. Like BrianG said, cant handle the torque.

The design i like is the variable pully style CVT/s

One design iv drawn out but not built is a bit different. This setup has half sphere wheels and the wheel contact changes to increase or decrease radius thus changing the final drive ratio.
