you could also buy nylon robinson racing pinions, they are great too, and they last alot longer than you would think

so what robinson racing pinions you been using then?

As i have used both the hard nickel coated ones and aluminium ones on my losi cars with losi gears and find them to be very quiet and mesh very nicely.

Maybe traxxas 48dp is not the same as most others 48dp i suppose you could try losi pinions i always found them to be of very high quality.
