Medusa 028-56 V2 SE ?

I am planning on a Medusa MR-028-056-1900V2, a 28x56 size motor for my 580mm Vee boat, but the motor's centering hub is stopping me from this option, 'cause my motor mount has a center hole of 8mm but the motor center hub is 9.53mm in dia.

What's the real use of this hub ring-wall on front endbell casing?

I bought SE versions of the 3670 and 3680 V2s, and found the centering hub has been thankfully removed to have a flat front mounting plate. Will Medusa have a SE version also for its smaller brothers ?

Even it it does why not just make a small spacer disk to give you a flush fit?

On my 60 it almost looks like that little mofo is useless, you could probably grind it off...

I was thinking of to drill it off with a big (10mm) drill bit, but this requires to remove the rotor while Medusa motors are not rebuildable design and may be damaged when forced open. Dremel/grind it off is another choice but may hurt the shaft by a minor mistake, the metal dust will likely kill the front bearing as well. Looks like to enlarge the hole on the motor mount or adding a spacer are the only ways to go.

Get mike to make you a front cover like he does for the 36mm motors. Good idea as the al medusa uses for the front endbell is a bit soft and the threads are not the greatest either. If you plan to remove the motor frequently you need a front cover.
