Thanks. Still checking out all the options. Do you think the ring gear from the cen would fit right onto the xl cup? Just swap out the xl ring gear and 13t bevel gear for those on the cen?

I was doing some research on my above question and found a thread at savage central were a guy has been testing this in his flux. Sounds like it is holding up pretty good. Here's the link:

I order the cen ring and bevel gears to give it a shot myself. Unfortunately I had to order them from two different places. So I got double dinged on the shipping cost. I got the two ring gears for 30.00 and the two bevel gears for 23.00. That's the cost w/o the shipping inlcuded.

Just a FYI for anyone interested. I was also looking around for a 13t beveled pinion that might hold up better then the HPI 13t does. Attached is the document with a list of possibilities. I haven't followed up on it much after I found out about the above possibility.

13t bevel gear comp.doc

Still waiting on a couple of responses on the length of the overall pinion itself.

Don't remember where I saw it but someone installed/shimmed set of the set up Cen diffs offered on SaV Central in a 6S Flux. Then he tried to break them and couldn't by just running/jumping. He finally did succeed - holding it WOT and throwing it on the ground, just took 9 tries, IIRC. It broke tooth off pinion.

He's updated the prices on Sav Central for the ready to drop in setups. They're $20 more than what I quoted above. He said he's no longer buying Ebay, but all new and thats reason for the increase.

I'm waiting on ground to get dried out (9.4" rain in 4hrs 2 days ago) and will start running 6S in my Flux and if I have trouble with diffs, I'll pop for a set of his ready to go Cen diffs.

I had diff probs with my old SS4.6 and was never able to completely fix, just made them last longer - alum bulks, alum cups, and alum diff cases. It would still kill that small brg on the ring gear every so often, but was better that stripping ring gears.

What parts did you order?
GS004/GS005 or MX037/MX040 or MXS37/MXS38?

Have you installed and tested them? What's the result?
