At the track this past sunday, there were two guys running Mt with the MMM in there vehicles... One was a Savage flux and the other was a standard e-revo converted to Brushless... Both encountered problems with their switches and put them out of the running..


I went to radio shack and bought a MicroMini Toggle switch for 2 bucks, its much better then the stocker and is much harder to foul and flip. By the end of the day one mamba switch was decapitated and buried (literally )

Nope. Patrick from CC has said that mods are allowed as long as nothing is soldered (or unsoldered) to the actual ESC circuit board.

I don't use the switch cut it off and solder problem solved.

well you know how they turn on..one touch of the button...i reckon we need that...it's a "soft off" setup that uses just a micro momentary on button and you press it once and it's on then press it again and it's off...i forgot what exactly that setup is called but anyway...yah...that'd be a good idea :D

It will slowly wear away at the tips of your connector. I've never had to replace a connector due to wear If you're bashing just cut off the switch when it goes bad, if you're racing get rid of it before you race unless you want to shell out the $ for a nice covered switch. I'd rather keep the cost of the ESC low and get a bad switch (life really does go on without it) than have to spend more for something I really couldn't care less about. If you want a switch, spend the money and do it your way.

i agree, my very first run i flipped the truck on its lid, the switch moved just enough to turn it off

in fact, right now im putting on a new toggle switch :)

i vote no don't need to change switches or get rid of them like to have an on off switch takes the hastle out of remembering to turn on radio before u plug in batts even when u get older u tend to forget and you end up with a smash up truck

Aye, this is a forum, not a mobile phone- full sentences and punctuation never killed anyone..

I've never had any issues with my switch, but then I've never had any issue with my V1 either

I like the idea of jumper though, like the little ones on the back of cd-rom drives (you know what I mean). If you could incorporate that onto the pcb in a suitable location so that it protruded from the top/side of the esc case, then one could simply remove the jumper part to turn off the esc, and replace it to activate it- the spring tension would hold it in place fine, and it could be tethered so as not to become lost.

Whats that got to do with the switch though- if you forget to turn the switch off after removng the batts, next time you plug the batts in (without turning the radio on first since due to old age you forgot?) the model would still turn into a run away regardless of there being a switch or not...

Rule #1 in the R/C world is to turn the radio on first, and off last, every time. Funny thing is though I swear the MMM has a built in failsafe of sorts anyway- if I turn the tx off and leave the batts plugged in & esc turned on, the esc leds go to a different color, to indictate 'no signal' and returned the throttle to neutral.

So, switch not required in that sense....

I am with neil and bboy16 on this one. I get how the switch comes into play in this scenario. I also know that like neil said the MMM has a fail safe which defaults it to neutral when there is no signal.
