So after a month of owning a CRT.5 - 05.07.2009, 08:19 PM

Well after a month of owning my crt.5 I have found a couple weak links,

They would be the shock mounts plastic breaks these would be great in aluiminum.

The upper arms even though the links are 3.5 the plastic is just not tough enough. These would also be nice to be able to buy in aluiminum.

Rear uprights tend to break also.

Camber links are a bit to brittle also I might switch all the ball ends to a 4-40 and go rpm rod end cups on them. Or switch to traxxas style revo ends. Not sure on that yet.

Other than that I have to say I love my CRT.5 i put it threw alot of abuse, I dont go easy on my stuff for sure.

Overall i believe it is a great basher just dont go to big with it,
On the track it is one of the easiest cars i have ever driven. Great handling, Good power, Now running a medusa 36 50 3300 on 2s most of the time. Geared with 17 tooth mod 1 pinion. On 3s it is just an animal.

Give me a call sometime - I've got the fix for the front top turnbuckles... in fact all the turnbuckles.

Shocks - swap to jato and buggy front

25mm 4mm threaded rod with revo rod ends for top...

43mm titanium grinder turnbuckles for steering and I think 55 for rear but have to measure...

Skip that - the lunsford grinder links are a much better option...

I have 2 crt.5 and love it...and so does my daughter. I agree that the arms are weak. Mike's AL arms are sweet, but expensive. All in all, if I need to replace a a-arm from time to time, no big deal. I am using Titanium pins and turnbuckles all around.
