The 1527 2y is almost the same kv as the 1521 2.5y, so gearing will not change. Not sure if Lutach's LT10 esc will handle the 1527 geared for 35 in the 6x6lst... I guess we will see, 10s at 100 amps at 75% eff is 3.5hp, so I guess it will be fine. Maybe it will work in this truck too... I guess I can give that esc a try, test its limits!
Lets find out .

I was going to pm and ask you what you thought about that... I guess we will see. I will start with conservative gearing. I have not done any sort of cap mod yet, I am guessing that would be a good idea? Since the truck will be heavier, braking stress will be higher. What caps and how many should I use? Any other tips? Maybe put a fan on the esc?

I used 2 Radio Shack 1000uF 50V caps just to see how they would perform and they did the job very well, but I do recommend the Low ESR 105C type capacitors. After the cap mod, leave the ESC as is without a fan, but check temps regularly and if it heats up then add one. Data log the runs to actually see how many amps your set up is pulling. I don't think the 1527/2Y will need a lot of amps to get your vehicle moving.
