I was going to pm and ask you what you thought about that... I guess we will see. I will start with conservative gearing. I have not done any sort of cap mod yet, I am guessing that would be a good idea? Since the truck will be heavier, braking stress will be higher. What caps and how many should I use? Any other tips? Maybe put a fan on the esc?

I used 2 Radio Shack 1000uF 50V caps just to see how they would perform and they did the job very well, but I do recommend the Low ESR 105C type capacitors. After the cap mod, leave the ESC as is without a fan, but check temps regularly and if it heats up then add one. Data log the runs to actually see how many amps your set up is pulling. I don't think the 1527/2Y will need a lot of amps to get your vehicle moving.
