All punch control does is lengthen the time it takes for the throttle signal to go from what it was to what you want it to be. So, if you mash the throttle, the ESC lengthens the "ramp up". Effectively, it would be like you pushing the trigger more slowly. This helps to limit burst current and is easier on the ESC.

However, if racing with this value set too high, it can reduce the snappiness of your system. Let's say you round a corner and want to get some speed for a jump within a foot or two. High punch control will not let you get as much acceleration. Some racers would rather have 0 punch control and manually control the throttle. Bashers probably want something a bit higher to help save the drivetrain, battery, ESC, etc. I personally set mine fairly high.

I think I'll reduce it to 0 then, since we kinda have a stop, turn and go kinda track.
