suicideneil thanks but no thanks for the input. i said i was new to the forum not to rc. first off nothing on my rc is "bling" i replaced broken plastic parts with stronger aluminum. it has some FLM, STRC, Integy, and Hot Racing. and out of all of those parts i have been least satisfied with the FLM their customer service and support is less than sub-par. All the metals are about the same in strength and quality. And the everything BUT the FLM had a factory fit. So next time why dont you just keep your sour comments to yourself! THANKS

Hmmm? I'm the peace maker round these parts. I try to see both sides so everybody gets along.

Welcome to RCM. Lots of great brushless knowledge here. Anything thats been tried has been tried here. Including integy parts, which are known to not be made of "metals of the same strength" as you assumed. Also integy shocks are notoriously bad for leaks.

FLM has great customer service and support. Jamie(the owner) is a good guy and RC-Moonster Mike carries the full fastlane line. Either of them would have straightened you out had you stuck with it and allowed them to.

FLM parts sometimes have fitment issues, but they have been proven time and time again to be the strongest parts out there, made of much highher quality aluminum than integy.

It's a cool looking rig, but several have been done here, and they haven't worked out well. Suicideneil wasn't bashing you, he is speaking from experience, and was trying to help you.

If you want a pretty shelf queen then keep doing what you're doing with all that worthless bling. If you want to make a bulletproof racer or basher then listen to the expertss here instead of arguing with them.

Plus Neil's british so all bets are off. He's high on kippers or something

Having dealt extensively with metallurgy in my background I can tell you that your statement there is way off.

Welcome to the forum and all but please don't post a silly comment like that again.

Just in aluminum alone tensile strength and hardness vary a great deal. The strongest aluminum alloy is over 100 times stronger than the weakest aluminum alloy. There are so many varying grades and types of every allow nothing even begins to be equal to that of another for any given application. ASME has numerous books with the wide ranging standards of all metals and alloys from plane carbon steel to zirconium and tantalum.

Then you have the way the metals are processed which varies quite a bit even for the same alloy. Metals can be cold rolled, hot rolled, cast, etc. Then there is annealing processes, hardening processes, along with anodizing which does a great deal to improve wear quality of metal on metal contacts. Anodizing alone has various levels which affect the quality and strength based on the type and process of the anodizing. Hardening works the same way and varies a great deal based on the process and desired result.

Also please go back to what _paralyzed_ said and understand neil is only offering help and advice. He can be a bit abrasive but that is just his British personality coming through.

easy tiger i dont think neil said anything about you being new. He just stating his opinion.

And i agree with texas...integy and flm DO NOT use the same materials.

anyways, cool idea, but you may need to look into some custom parts for the front end. May also want to look into somhow widening the footprint to achieve a 1/8 stance.
