dude, i know! its nutz! and that is the cheap one. it was $120 for body and the wrap but for the 5t bodies they are $240. after paint and wrap you are at $300 for the frickin' body. its a little disconcerting to say the least. and the tires are the same. for tires, wheels, and beadlocks you are looking at a good $175 or so. i guess thats the price you pay for bigger toys.

wow Brian! the video turned out great. love the HD. you seriously have a talent for filming and editing. Props to Kulangflow for providing the vid. you make my truck look like the poster child for the Castle website or something. lets do it again sometime but with a little golf course action. i hit up the GC by my house today again and had a blast.

and my extended hubs came today so now i can get my disc brakes installed this week. its gonna be a lot more fun to drive once i have the brakes on. i havent been able to control my pitch off jumps without brakes. cant wait.

Ryu you're driving it like you had more than a few days with it... not babying it much are we?

That front end jump shot was killer!

thanks redshift. kulang did a great job. i need to invest in an onboard cam sometime and get some vids like yours one day. i recently watched a bunch of your vids. great stuff.

Glad you enjoyed man, if you guys like I can start a thread on OBV. I spend some time on the AP forum on RCGroups, always looking for better equipment. HD is still has a bit of an issue for high speed motion but we are getting closer.....

Ben following both builds from the start and I'm impressed with what I've seen and read. The end result of the fruit of your labors are spectacular and I'm envious of you both, great jobs. The video was great, nice shots and awesome editing A++.


I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

thanks all. the vid is great thanks to kulangflow and the truck has been fun. here is my new body since my first got destroyed. the new body makes it look much larger. i took it to the park yesterday and shredded! it was a blast. hauling across the grass on two wheels half the time. i did an end-over-end flip about 30 ft coming off of a grass hill jump. kept on trucking. one problem though. i checked temps when done and motor was 170* and esc was 110*. esc is fine obviously but that motor temp was totally unexpected and in the danger zone. everything is fine but i like to keep things at 150* or less. i thought i was safe since i had been checking temps every five minutes the first few days of running and never saw it get hot once. i was really running it hard but what do you guys think caused it? geared to high? geared to low? i have a 17t and 18t pinion i could try. should i try those and go higher? based on esc temps isnt it most likely geared too low? and actually i dont know how hot the esc was. by the time i got to it to check it was only like 80* but had the fan on it and the motor had cooled 30* in the time period to get to the esc so i am just guessing the esc was about 110*. it could have been cooler.

IF gearing is producing the torque/speed you want, then it's time to reconsider your motor mount. The motor mount, while open, is still thick. I don't think you have one-quarter of the fan that motor needs... and the mount may be acting as an insulator more than a heatsink. You have enough of a hole to use a larger fan, and I would consider one on either side (if you have the room) blowing inward, so that the top is just an exhaust. The fins can't do their job in a semi-enclosed mount like that IMO.

If you have to make more relief for air around the inside, it won't show. But it could be a big help.

Or just wait for colder weather lol... won't be long!
