With the huge pushes into 1:1 electric and hybrids, sounds like A123 is looking elusively in that direction. The DOE just gave out huge grants the other day to Ford, Nissan, Tesla (?) and perhaps some other autos into elec cars. A123 also recieved a lot of investment money from some of the large blue chips to persue their tech for 1:1s.
really it makes sense for them to put all their R&D into 1:1 as RCs are pretty small scale stuff (hahaha)

With China making cheaper cells, of course those guys went to them as they can make more profit. Enerland has proven themselves and if they didn't A123 would've never bought them. That should tell everyone something right there. Maybe the Chinese lipo manufacturers have caught up in technology to the Korean giant. A few of the Chinese real lipo manufacturers have told me that there 25C are mature and the 30-40C are not mature yet and more testing should be done, but it's a risk the brand names has to take.

Interesting reading, thanks for the links. The various enerland cells have been the only cells I have used that have not had issues. I look forward to gather info on the G3 hyperion packs, and the new 40c tp and 43c fp packs. I will most likely swap over to these newer packs in the year to come.

Why do the two Polyquest packs I have say "Made in China" on the individual cells?

Hyperion G3 35/65C come also in 5000 and 5500mah
I just ordered just 3300mah 5S as they are enough for our short mains and and they are 200g lighter than 5000mah packs
datasheet of all G3 packs http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/g3lipo/G3-Specs-EN.pdf

At least we can stop guessing who is enerland cell who's not, they are all not now. . TP, FP, Neu, Hyperion.....
FP also mentioned a QC improvement, "much much better" cycle life and more friendly price by this transition from Korea to China , good for customers like us.

I've heard from a Chinese LiPo manufacturer that their customers are labelling the packs with higher C rating than what the cells are tested for.

That is sometimes common due to everyone's marketing scheme. The moment you see a 40C pack from one guy, you'll see 40C the next day from the other. Then one will claim 40C+ so the other will come in a 48C or 50C or 60C and it'll keep going that way. Same thing goes for ESCs, one company will claim 540A and then here comes one that claims 780A and a lot of people out there really falls for it lol.
