TTR S3 BL Conversion - 06.18.2009, 10:46 PM

Hey guys, I'm new to brushless 1/8th scale's, and had an almost new TTR S3 laying around and figured I would give it a go. I ordered a RC-Monster Motor mount for the TTR ST-1 which should fit, as well as a Mamba 2200 ESC/Motor Combo. I plan on using 1 4s lipo. Does anybody know if I need 2 separate batteries to be able to race? Here are some pictures getting it prepped. Lemme know what you think.

Got my motor mount and installed the receiver over my steering servo. My motor, ESC, battery, and battery tray are all coming within the next couple days. Lemme know what you think.

I'm partial to the S3s. So thumbs up ! Looking forward to more pics of the finished conversion.

Looking good!

Despite the fact that the TTR EB4-S3 never seemed to get any great results anywhere (although it did well in the UK in the hands of Jon Hazlewood), I've always liked the design and thinking behind the car. Shame the UK distributors are crap, or I'd consider one myself.

I think it won the 2006 ROAR in USA. But sadly, since TT assumed control of AE, there has not been any updates to the S3. Can't have 2 pro buggies in the same stable ya ?

Yes, piloted by Ryan Mayfield. And there is an upgrade kit for the S3, it's called RC8.

I'm pretty sure the RC8 motor mount should fit the S3, can anybody confirm?

I believe amainhobbies.com has them.

I have an RC8T, and it doesn't seem that they would fit. The ST-1 motor mount is what I'm using though, and it fits great, but you need to use a bigger center spur also. I am using the spur from my TTR ST-1 truggy, which is 50 tooth.

BTW, the buggy is 99% done, all I need is a pinion gear and I'm set!
