1:1 for my Muggy is around 9T, ideal gearing so far seems to be 14T. No offense but I think that theory doesn't work so well. With a 9T pinion I'd be over-revving the motor and have no speed at all.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

There are exceptions, and 1:1 rollout isn't a hard and fast rule, but for the most part it works. It's meant to put you in the ballpark gearing ratio and then you fine tune from there based on what your electronics can handle, how you plan on driving, etc. There are so many factors to account for, 1:1 rollout is just to find a good starting point.

Lightbulb Suggestions - 08.09.2009, 12:15 PM

this rc calculator is SO cool, and am glad to se it improved and updated! I would like to help, or contribute, comment and suggest..I would like if you put in some 'FYI' fields, maybe not to be used in calculator, but to jsut write the info, if you know what i mean..would also be handy if one capture the screeen, and have some custom lines, that tell the model/setup comments.

"pole count" of motors would be nice to have data on..(missing pole count in motors below..dunno the count..)

a few things i'd love to see in your calculator:

could you add a drop down menu under motor resistance ? and also add some motors (see below). i know you say that 'mike dont have..' but i think its handicapping/encribbling your amazing calculator sticking with what mike has.
---
More/better help/tip on 'current motor draw in amp'
---
more clarification on '1:1 rollout'. why care for this, what to obtain, go for, etc..
---
In 'Parameter solver' and other places, could you include KPH, or in general to some extend, metric values ? maybe inside the usual ()-clamps

and can you add these tranny gearings:

E-savage metal tranny low-geared: (32/20 x 24/26) = 1,476...

(presently im using additional gearing 0,85 to make above 'happen')

E-savage metal tranny low-geared: (32/20 x 26/24) = 1,733.. (thats same as stock)

E-savage spur gears: 60t, 68t, 70t, 72t(all 32p), 49t(mod1)
---
Could you add these tires/diameters:

On system wiring page:

Can you add Mamba max and Mamba monster esc's ?
Can you add 3 fans option ?
---
"Brushless parameter comparison": that seems neat and logic, but what is this used for, could this one be expanded in a way ?
---
On "Lipo wiring" page, could you include 'align/electrifly/JST XH connectors ? that would make the pics look more correct. i fooled around with the pic and made something liek this.

hope its ok i edited the pic ;) . Now im at it, it would be nice/neat to select bullet connectors, if thats worth a thought..

BTW, I believe its important/good rule, to connect main leads FIRST, and disconnect main leads LAST.. can someone nod to that ?

Finally, I have wish: If you could make at least 3-5 setup saving (/memory slots) buttons, like the 'Dark Horse RC calculator has' , see http://dhrc.rchomepage.com/RolloutCalc.htm . then one can keep a previous setup, enter new setups, and compare them easy, instead of having multiple windows with the calculator. Perhaps take the best from dark horse calculator. I see is has battery capacity, truck/car weight, wheel RPM..

Also, selecting lipo cell voltage, so which to pick, 4.2V not that accurate in practical terms ? How about some sorta 'recommendation on what to pick here (may have to do with the esc/motor ratings?)
---
On the gearing pages: Would be nice and handy to have fx a converter/recommender, that switch a 32pitch spur/pinion pair, to the closest approx mod1 gears, well only thinking out loud. Maybe its already there.. or a pop up window that sugest the gear teeth to be used to accomplish same ratio/distance between gears..well u figure..
---
keep it up BrianG, This is an ultimate and very useful calculator! You work is VERY appreciated!! I hope you can use the suggestions

Edit: ...this is my first post on this awesome forum. (But lets pretend its post#763..sounds better)

HELLO ALL..
