Installing Brass Threaded insert into chassis

The few times I've used them, I just drilled a hole slightly smaller and used the tip of a soldering iron to gently push them in as they melt the plastic.

I set mine in the same epoxy I use to bed rifle actions with the hole a touch larger than the insert. Insert was snug in the hole.

Both methods will work in plastic just fine. I use a slightly smaller hole and tap the insert in place. When you tighten the screw in place the sides wil spread out and make a tight hold.

What epoxy do you use for bedding? I have always used fiberglass resin.
