ARe you sure the Titan is a 14V motor?From what I have seen of the wiring the titan 12 turn is just a standard 540 motor made to run on 6V or so, the Dual motor setups seem to have the positive and negative tied together in the middle at the ESC, so the voltage drop across the motor is still 7.2V. (EDIT: So it's a Titan 14V motor.)

Did you program the controllers correctly? Use a Volt meter to see what you are getting out at the motor leads with the motor connected. Also try the other motor and press the brushes into the comm and see if they start turning. What did the springs look like?
