Flux mount in nitro savage? - 10.06.2009, 02:08 PM

Would the Flux motor mount plate and rings work to convert a nitro savage?

IDK absolutely, but I do know you may run into problems w/ the motor hitting the TVP. Its possible it will work if you went to a smaller pinion/spur, but not sure. I got a motor mount from Kershaw Designs that mounts up high, and a medusa motor w/ 16/43 gearing and Cen 2.89 diffs. The motor does fit within the TVPs easily.
The Flux mount requires a 44mm diameter motor (vs 36mm for the medusa.)

At worst, get new TVPs off ebay. They are not very expensive.

There is a guy on RCU who tried but he had to space out the motor side of the chassis with washers to accommodate the motor.

Also the clamp of the flux's mount was too big and he'd used PVC pipe to get it to work..

Ok, I'd be using a CC 2200 more than likely. Just didn't know if it was possible or not. And most of the ones I have looked at on here have a homemade motor mount, and I have no tools to do that so thats out. Ok thanks guys. Was just wondering, a guy offered me a savage for pretty cheap and I thought I would check it out.

I reckon you'd get a Tekno RC mount in there alright... They use same mounting holes as nitro engine too I believe...
