I agree. Two speeds suck in most cases. Even when you do set it up right, if the motor has a lot of torque, you tend to break the tires loose when it shifts, lose control, and your car becomes part of the scenery. Been there, done that.

Did you ever set it up to just shift, you know when its going 70mph or 80, real late like shifting from 2nd to 4th ? would that help iffin another dildo just had to learn on his own because he like to eat crow ?

I know certain spurs and pinions only fit but its not like we dont have mad machinists around to compansate.. Do you think the BL torque is just too much for a 2 speed even geared with a fat tall boy like a 1/5th gearing with a larger motor etc. heavy yes but geared right maybe faster ?

we already gear our motors for top speed so a higher gear isn't necessary, and there's plenty of acceleration so a lower gear isn't necessary.

Multiple gear transmissions were invented to compensate for the powerband of an internal combustion engine. With electric motors, there is no powerband, so the engine technology simply isn't applicable to an electric motor platform.
