Quick revo conversion question -

My motor finally came for my conversion, I have the RC-M motor mount.
It is a traxxas 38 spur, and a 32 pitch 17t 5mm pinion. Even with a loose mesh the pinion and spur are really loud and choppy against each other. Just wondering if this is anything to be worried about? Also adjusting the mesh to get it where you want it is a HUGE PITA. As soon as you tighten the motor screws the motor moves
