you could be onto something there...
put a metered current through the solder wire, so when touched on the work surface, it shorts with a earth clamp and melts the solder. a lot like ARC welding.

Gotta be careful with any soldering solution that uses current to melt. Current means voltage is present, and may be catastrophic for some electronic circuits.

I also have a few ideas, but I consider them to be "innovations" rather than "inventions". Innovations are, IMO, better ways to make something work using existing methods, or using something that exists in other applications.
