Welcome to the forum. For racing I'd stay away from the 40 series all together.The bow tie VS crimfighter debate would be dependent upon track conditions. Personally, it is my opinion that the crimefighter is more versatile. Another option that I like as well is the Panther boa's. I have them in C compound. C for clay tracks. Good luck.

can you please tell me why to stay away from the 40 series for racing?
I have heard that you get more control because the tire sits flush with the rim insted of ballooning out.
