I imagine that would be a hard promise to make before the beta's start. Hopefully all goes well tho and they don't need big revisions so they can be avail quickly.

In the earlier part of this thread he said it might can be just an update, but till testing is done they won't know if there will be any need for hardware updates

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Yep -- we are going to try to do it so that it could be just a software update, but at this time we aren't sure if we need to do any hardware changes.

The real issue is braking energy. If the Phx-ICE design is tough enough for braking energies (it wasn't designed to be a car controller!) then we won't need to update hardware. If we run into braking issues, we may have to tweak the design a bit, or add some external hardware.

It would be nice if CC sold external module of TVS devices (on a heatspreader/sink?) and caps. Might be useful for more ESCs than just the ICE when running either HV or at the voltage limit of the ESC (like 6s on the MMM/MMPro).

Looking at the ICE ESCs, they kind of have a similar design as the Aveox sensored controllers, so here's a question Patrick. Can the ICE controllers have a sensor port to take advantage of the smooth sensored start up that many people like?

Nope. Not enough pins on that particular microprocessor to do both data logging and sensors.

BUT, if you want to wait another 4-6 months for me to redesign the control board, do new molds for the controller (so we can put a sensor port in,) then... maybe.

I once heard a man say:

"We don't need no stinking sensors!"

You perfect it, and I'll buy it Patrick.

I'm really looking forward to a true HV setup.

I can wait, but you know how other members can get . Either way, I'll be waiting for the normal ICE HV to come out.

My vote is for getting the normal version out ASAP, I need a good HV speedo. If you do a sensored controller I would probably buy that as well....
