Hide the mini Revo and tell her that you only have three.

Take on a second job delivering pizza at the local Pizza Hut to make up the difference. I did that for about a year back in the mid 90's and with salery, mileage, and tips I averaged between $15 and $20 an hour. Pulling 30 to 40 hours a week I made enough to get me through the rough times, and picked up a few toys along the way. With 8 kids(3 at home now) we have been faced with issues all year, but I refuse to sell off my stuff. I just defend with "what are you selling off" and she drops it. I am retired working part time and still make my cut, so not much to complain about in my book. We should not be forced to give up the things we really enjoy as an altimatum. Thats just not right.

WELL SAID !
A few years ago the now wife and I had a hard time getting by when I was out of work on a workmans comp dealie-o w/my knee injury. Her hours were cut at the same time and she says to me
"You might have to sell a couple RC's to pay bills"
My retort was "you can F*** yourself too !"
I'm still paying 2/3rds of the bills with my comp checks and picking up the slack with garage sales and with ebay. Maybe you need to sell your stuff or get a PT job ?
That was the end of that conversation LOL

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

Always ways. - 02.02.2010, 08:07 PM

There are always ways around tough times, but you have to be willing to lower your standards just a bit and do whatever it takes to make things right. There are tons of odd & end jobs that one can do without needing a whole lot of education, experience, or start up money if you really want to keep your head above water. I have delivered pizzas, detailed autos, cut lawns, made and sold woodcrafts and lawn furniture, and there are always other things that one can do without having to kill yourself or be a rocket scinentist to figure it out. You can go out with a vehicle and collect wood downed tree limbs and cut it up for firewood and sell it by the bundle right outside your own home. I love the toy collection I have and as long as there is food on the table I am keeping my stuff. Tell the wife to go out and take on a second job. We tell our kids if they want pocket money to get off their butts and go cut lawns or wash cars for spending $$$. They actually do pretty well on their own. It teaches them self respect and independance. Don't let the wifey over run you with crap like that. You have to put your foot down and let her know who is the king of your castle.

Dismantle the hyper into parts, put it in a box, and ship an empty box to Jerry. Put "Pizza" on the outside.....

OK Freakshow. That made me laugh. Hey I'm just trying to help the guy out here in a way for him to keep from giving up his play stuff. We cannot let these women run us into the ground. I am very lucky (3rd time around) but we all know how nasty they fight, and we always seem to get screwed in the long run. So we have to stand up for our selves or go down in flames. My paycheck and our kids SSI goes directly into our joint account for food, bills and what not, but my retirement money is mine to do with what I want. And she still gives me cash (mad money) every week to keep my pockets full. Of course it took many years to get to this point. Believe me I have had my lean years.
