Phat E-Revo - 01.17.2010, 06:49 PM

Well I thought I would share my E-Revo.I have spent alot of time reading forums to find the best setup.I bought the E-Revo with a seperate MMM TRX combo then sold the Brushed ESC/Motor.I then added a GH bottom skidplate to give it additional chassis regidity.Put my Tekno Neu 1515/1.5d/f in it a HR motor heatsink.I then used the blue spring in the rear shocks and added the long throw steering brace that came with the kit to give it added streering throw. Now I have not realy been a big fan of TRX vehicles.I Built a E-Slayer and had problems with the diffs on a regular basis. But so far I have not broken anything and I have done some crazy snow launches.I am impressed and quit suprised. Now I have owned several Xrays,Losi,AE,Mugen,Serpent...
The tires are ofcourse are too soft and minor other flaws but its a real blast to drive. The honeymoon with MA batteries if over too and I now have several Turnigy batteries. These in the pic are 5200 2s 30C and they are great. I had to do minor mods to fit those huge battery wires. Also bought a Tactic 2.4ghz for 80 bucks. The am radio is worthless with a brushless system. Here r some pics.I also added thr RPM Truetrack and done some suspention tweeks.I hope to add swaybars soon.Bottom line is its fun and not alot of wrencin time other than cleaning

Nicely done- I never knew there was an alloy skid thingy available, looks rather tough. Good choice on the batts, interesting choice on the motor- will be plenty fast on just 4s. You will definately get alot of enjoyment out of it- how are the temps like after a typical session?

I have only driven it once and it was cold out so the motor was cold.I have had that Neu motor in my 1st Brushless conversion a 8T some time ago.Its a great motor.Bigger bearings than the standard Neus. The truck is sick fast and the MMM is set to low timing etc to keep temps down. The truck is very versitile.I also have a CC 2200 that came with the combo. The Neu is just so smooth.

What ive seen people do is drill a small hole for a setscrew through the knuckles where the retainers go so the set screw will hit them and stop them from loosening

This is also used on the Tekno rc knuckles as you can see in the pics

I always cross thread my rpm knuckels and that makes it hard to adjust the piviot balls, I guess it has an upside!

I would recommend against loctiting metal to plastic, there's the potential for the plastic to melt, etc.

I took the truck out sunday in the iced over snow for 10 minutes and launched it off a large jump and managed to ;awndart the truck into a corner of a large wood planter. It hit square on the front bumper and no broken parts. This truck is pretty tough so far.I am usualy very careful not to destroy my trucks.I took it out yesterday and did some parking lot speed runs and the truck reminds me of my 8T.I did put 17mm hubs some LPR proline wheels/tires and it handles alot better. So far I am very pleased
