I get such a kick when people feel righteous and want to stand up against abuse by abusing the abuser. Granted, the abuser is scum for hurting the kitty in the first place, but isn't harming a human worse than hurting an animal? Why do humans always feel superior to everything and feel the need to make choices for others?

That douchebag that hurt the kitty was scum, but putting on a superiority hat and giving in to the same primal urges to hurt as the abuser did makes a person on par with the abuser, yet with a superiority complex.

People are too far removed from the farm and the start of the food chain. Grow up on a farm and you will see the life and death of many species 100 fold. A kitty gets hurt, you shoot it, there will be more and it's family won't mind.

We are at the top of the food chain for a reason, and the way we kill our food is more "humane" than the way animals kill prey in the wild. Animals are below us and I just can't fathom when people see animals as equals. I can't see spending $900 on a cat surgery when there are humans in need.

I've never killed an animal I wasn't going to eat, or that wasn't suffering. I respect them, but they have their place.

Slow night, I'm bored.........

Honestly, I'd have to disagree with some of that. The whole thing about the "kitty gets hurt, shoot it, there will be more and it's family won't mind" really isn't true, at least for some animals. I know that from experience. Couple instances. I had two dogs. One got hit by a car and the other, the much younger of the two all of a sudden became seemingly depressed, and she still isn't the same two years later. She use to be so playful, listen, and be energetic, now she just lays there 90% of the time and doesn't listen. Some would say thats just cause shes alone and such, and I thought so too, so I got another dog about a year ago. Didn't change a thing and she doesn't even like the other dog that much. Second instance: the pitbull I got a year ago was from my neighbor. His dog had a litter and the only one that made it out of a litter of 10 was mine. Her mom lived next door until a couple months ago and I would sometimes bring her mom over to play with her. Now, she goes outside, STILL and will sit by the fence just waiting for her mom. You can't say that the family of the animal won't mind it not being there. They know...

I agree with harold, also grew up on and near farms and have seen cats and kittens die all the time, weather they are sleeping under the hood when the car starts, get stepped on by the cows, stick their head in holes they cant back out of, i mean things happen and cats reproduce like rabbits on the farm. and if they died we just tossed them in the spreader as we found them. and on the farm cats are not missed by the other cats, maybe in your home they are but not on the farm, thems be free roamin kitties at their own risk.

but that does not give anyone the reason to abuse an animal on purpose for their entertainment. and though i dont see cats much higher than rats in my book i believe torture is never acceptable whether it be a mouse or a dog

but also does not give anyone else the right to do harm to someone else who has done something wrong, if u are reading it, he got caught and the law can take care of it. its not your place to take the law into your hands its only going to get u in trouble. exposing him to the neighbors will be more effective, make him feel shame and let them know what kind of strange he is!

agreed. Growing up in a house full of cats i see how meaningless they are to eachother. They have no dependancy towards one another and heck we just lost one a few weeks ago but it ran into the street and got hit by a car.. our other 2 cats are the exact same from it and act like nothing even happened

but as riverrat said this doesnt give anyone the right to harm an animal.. just think the court system will punish this guy enough. I only read the first arcticle, but there was no interview with the guy who did it.. maybe he is mentally handicap or has some serious mental illness that he cannot control. Shoot we dont know what his deal is at all. Sure he could just be some white trash POS like everyone is thinking, but if so the courts will take care of it.
