Little help for my car?

That's fine Brian. Am I at least correct to assume that a relay works by acting as a switch between and input and output, and turns on and off with when the relay is triggered by a (smaller) current on the "switch" leads?

Yes, your right. The relay works as a switch so to speak. It should have 4 pins, one goes to the + of the battery, one goes to ground, one goes to the + of the HID kit, and the other goes to the + of the stock harness, and then the - of the HID kit goes to ground as well if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong, but I just wired one up the other day and I'm pretty sure thats how it went. The only problem I could see would be grounding the HID, cause I think it says somewhere in the instructions that came with mine not to ground it.
