any plastic spur gears that fit the crt x2?

A Kyosho plastic spur will fit. I don't understand how you manage to shred pinions with steel spur. I had been running my ST RR with a lightened 46T Kyosho steel spur with an RCM 15T pinion since Feb last year and the teeth still looks new. Are you sure the mesh is okay? You have to put a little of play on the gear teeth when you're setting up the mesh.
