i recently purchased a rx8 1700 truggy setup and realized i should have gone with ahigher kv motor because i already have 4 5000mah 4s packs,is running this motor on 4s bad? im running it in a mugen mbx5 with a rc monster conversion. thanks
I would think that motor would work great for a smaller track or if you really just want a real smooth powerband. I have a 1900kv in my hyper9e and think its great but actually am looking for a 1700 for my brother because he is a little more trigger happy then me.
how wood a 1700kv on 4s go in a truggy? i have a 2200kv in mine now and the batterys only last 13 minutes. i want to get longer run times so am looking to a slighty smaller motor to achieve this

4 cell 1700 is a bit slow. typicaly the setup i use for newbies to run my buggy. very smooth and easy to drive. i would imagine it would be a bit slower in a truggy with all the extra rotating mass, but wont break the tires loose every time you punch it like the 2200. 4cell 1700 reminds me of running 19t 4wd on NiMh years ago.
haha, I ran my 1650k/v on 3s for quite awhile in my CRT. It was geared for mid 20's but I still had alot of fun with it. I dont think you will have any complaints on 4s as long as you dont want to break 35.
I ran my 1515 2.5D(1650kv)in my old e-revo on 4s and it had no problem spinning, pulling wheelies, or going like a bat outta hell. ?Just ask the guy whose head I landed on at the RC-M bash two years ago
its a 1700kv truggy setup going in my buggy,any input on how i should gear it? i was thinking a 16 or 17 tooth pinion,its a 46 spur on a mugen mbx5 thanksalso a 4s pack
