At the moment I am heavily considering to invest in a Schulze ESC as it has brakes. I think it would be almost impossible to fit any mechanical brakes into the truck as well, and it would also result in more weight

I hope a 40.160 would be enough, on the specs it compares to the JetiSpin200 I'm using and I have seen speed boats running LMT 3080 motors on the 40.160 so it should be able to work - it however requires water cooling. Any opinions and experiences to share with me on this would be appreciated.

I ran my 40.160 with 10S lipos, Neu 1521/1Y in my truggy and it did a great job in destroying my diffs , putting out over 140A burst multiple times and providing close to 10 minutes of pure speed rush. Since I have the older 40.160, it doesn't have an LVC. The new ones I think does and you might be able to make a heat sink for it. I have now switched to my own ESCs and I use a 10S version in my race truggy and the 6S version in the truggy mentioned above.
