ok, the purple lehner motors dont have segmented magnets and wont be as smooth at slow speeds and are made in china instead of germany like the black ones. the basics get rather hot quickly. i had one and the speed was unreal but runtime wasnt to good and the motor and esc got hot. the 19 series is definately the way to go. if you dont really wanna dish out that much doe the wanderer xl is the next best thing. they run VERY cool and have gobs of torque and can take from 12 up to 18+ cells for most.
i would upgrade the diff cases and cups along with steel idlers and a strobe slipper.

thanks for the info, squee. whats the diff between the 1930, 40, and 50 motors? also, does monster carry all the items you listed to upgrade? thanks again everyone.

p.s.- i'm not sure how long the races last, i'll find out in a day or so. the track holds motocross races as well as rc races, its huge.
