as long as your KB and ezrun motors keep working good for you, just use them. if they both fail, then you should cave in and get the castle motor. trust me, i've had my fair share of frustration with cheap motors and even some nice ones. the castle 2200 motors that i have (one in my lx-1e and the other in my savage flux xl) have given me no trouble and they run cool all day. where i live, summers mean 110-115f temps during the day and even with those crazy ambient temps, the motors don't get too hot.

I run both; MMM/CC-Neu 2200kV in my BL Revo 3.3 and an eZRun 80A/KD36-74-1900kV, both on 159A-200A Zippy & Turnigy LiPo power and have had zero problems out of any of them. I live in Alabama, where the humidity is 100% all the time, and right now the ambient temps are 90º to 102º...everything works great, except when I overheat and have to come inside in the air-conditioning!

Buying some chinese stuff it worth saving a few bucks on but when it comes to 100+amp Speed-o's, spend more $$ for something that'll last and have customer service at least.

OK Hobby has online support and excellent customer service ...I got my stuff within 6-7 days to Australia and the girls helped out every step of the way ...dont go guessing and generalising ...these guys are really good !!!

They look a lot like the Orion 1/8th ESCs (just like the Infinite motors are very similar to the Orion motors) but not sure how they perform. Looks like they are all still on pre-order.

The OK hobby combo 2050KV and ESC 120A 2-4S are exactly the same as the ORION combo 2050KV and vortex8 ESC, which cost 3 times more ...
I have seen 3 Vortex8 in fire within 2 months, and I broke my orion 2050Kv 2 poles motor due to the hardwires and the widings, so attach them correctly !
At this time I didn't know nothing about 4 poles and NEU-Castle motors ^^ when I tried them it was just night and day
Shame on ORION to send this crappy combo (no power, limited to 4S, no reliable) more expansive than a Castle combo, and without customer support !!! "sorry we can't do anything, if you want we can sell you another combo for 250$ instead 320$." "No thanks, keep your ass oil" ...
I hope your 4 poles will work correctly !

i really like the specs on that pre order 120amp 1/5th scale esc. mostly the 5s-10s!!! waiting on some opinions on these products. i can't afford to be a guinne.

Well I broke down and ordered my first non-Castle ESC. I was going to get another MMP, but decided to try the Infinite 100A 1/10th sensored version, to put in my CRT .5

Hopefully it can hold up to the Novak HV 7.5 motor, but the current draw shouldn't be too bad when geared conservatively on 3S.

P.S. It now looks like the 160A 1/8th and 120A 1/5th ESCs are in stock.

Sold my EZrun 150a ESC and wanted to buy a Xerun due to the much smaller footprint... but the damn thing was out of stock all over.

Ended up ordering one of the Infinite 160a ESC's... it will be transfered to a crawling Savage setup once I get a 6s ESC again.

I also ordered one of the 4 pole motors now that I was at it... will leave some feedback once I get it installed and tested

Please do, I've had mine (4-pole motor) for way too long and still haven't had any time to run it. I keep saying "in the next few days" but either the weather always goes, or something else comes up.

Today I received the Infinite 100A sensored ESC. First impressions are what I expected. Doesn't look particularly robust, but doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. 14AWG with 3.5mm bullets for the motor leads, 14AWG for the battery leads with a Tamiya connector (I think?) It has about the same footprint as the MMP. The program card is smaller than I expected.

I am going to be using this ESC with a Novak HV 7.5 on 3S in my CRT .5. Got everything else to get it up and running except time. Add it on to the pile of OK Hobby stuff I have that hasn't been tested yet!

Do you guys think the 14AWG wire will be sufficient? Motor will be direct solder and battery will be a Dean's, also going to add an external cap.

For a hvmaxx motor on 3s 14g wire should be fine- I still have 14g on some of my A123 packs and its never been an issue with limiting the power or making the wires run warm, or anything like that.

Tekin RX8 ESC comes with 12 AWG and rated for 210A, so 14AWG for this cheap ESC rated for 100A should be OK.

wire size is also rated for distance. 14gauge wire that only 3" long can take way more power than 12gauge thats feet long.
