He already has the Revo. Might as well stick with it since your not gonna set up a brushless truggy for less than $500 and you can't get a Savage Flux for less either. You can pick up a MMM/2200 combo new for about $250, possibly less if you hunt around, or pick up a used one for less. That will still give you money to get a good set of lipos.

If he already has the revo then yea but the revo isnt exactly the most reliable basher.....
