Judging by the pic simplechamp posted I think the mount can be modded to work. Shaving cradle and the fins of the motor where it interfere is one way to go. The other would be to elongate the holes in the mount to move the motor up.

You could also unscrew the motor mounting plate from the mount and make a new one that raises the motor up. Use the old plate as a template and move the bottom screws (the ones that attach the plate to the mount) down 3-4mm to raise the motor up.
