First Lipo finally bit it - 09.09.2010, 04:31 PM

Had my first Lipo finally die - no flames or fun, just no juice. Had it in a slash, thought it had some charge left on it from the last time I ran it (a week or so ago) so plugged it in and tried to go - front wheels would turn, but nada on the motor. So pulled it out and immediately noticed one end was no longer a nice rectangle shape, it was now a trapezoid, and quite a bit larger then the other. Plugged it into the hyperion, which only detected one cell.

Can't complain much, it's over 2 years old, has a ton of runs on it, and was a tank right up to the end. (Was a 5000mah 2cell used in a pair of slashes, and a brushless e-revo)

How am I "supposed" to dispose of this thing, anyway? I live in city limits, so I can't chuck in in a fire or anything :P

If you can't make it go poof, (shovel, knife, metallic object, sharp skew stick, etc.), toss it in salt water and let it sit for ~2 weeks.

Afterwards it should be completely useless.
