Well, I'm not sure if it won't hurt anything.
If the posts are further back, the toe links run at a steeper angle to the steering linkage.
Try to imagine if you were to turn right, for example, the right toe link might collide with the inner side of the rim, you know what I mean?
That's what I'm worried about.
Don't want to waste that gorillamaxx skidplate by drilling "wrong" holes into it.

Looks great Neil!! Thats a big motor. It never occurred to me that the Neu design diameter was 3mm bigger.

Hmm, good point. I suppose it would depend on the amount of clearance there now at full lock, and whether you use offset rims etc. You could always do a mock-up using some stiff card or scrap of thin plastic, just to get an idea..

And the rest The can itself is 39.98mm, but with the fins its 41.78mm. I did some late-night soldering last night and fitted the 5.5mm bullets & mounted the motor- I still have a fair amount of adjustment before the motor hits the tranny case, but it is noticably less than with the 36mm diameter Medusa. Also, I had my largest pinion ( 24tooth mod 0.8 ) fitted already it seems + a 70tooth spur, so I will dig through my parts tubs and see what smaller spurs I have in order to gear up; currently its 34mph according to the calculator. 64/24 will be better, but 58/24 will give me 40mph again- we will see what I've got & what will fit/ mesh...
