Hey guys, sorry to hijack your thread but I have question about a bike frame a family friend gave my parents. The bike frame says TREK, are these any good? If it is are they worth restoring? I have little knowledge of bikes, other than the Mongoose bmx bike I used to ride back in highschool. I don't know if it's a mountain bike or onroad bike. I'll try to get some pics of the frame.

I had another ride today, might be my last chance before the family comes home from Japan on thursday night. I would like to keep up the habbit, I enjoy it, it's good for me, and I get to do a little bonding with Dad, which I haven't really done since Mum died.

My brother is overseas at the moment so it was just the two of us, I could give it a bit more without me brother LOL. We did 31.6 mile @ an average of 16.7mph. The last 13 mile we tagged along with a group Dad rides with sometimes when he is in Perth. They do 43 mile @ an average of 43mph (I think). I kept up with them so I am a little proud of myself considering it has been years since I was this interested in cycling. You guys probably don't need all this detail but I'm getting more excited with each ride, I want to make it my new hobby

I have to say my a$$ was killing me though. I rode bro's bike, the carbon one, nice bike and I like the position of his handle bars but he put the seat in a vice and sqeezed it so it is very rounded at the back. Suffice to say I will never ride his bike again, at least not with that seat. If all bike's were that uncomfortable I would go and buy bike shorts today. I will get some if I can make the rides a regular thing when the family is home.

This thread is about bicycles, so your not high jacking the thread. Yes Trek is a a very nice bike Brand. I ride a Trek Madone 6.9 red. Post a pic so we can see what you have. As for restoring the bike it depends how much is needed to complete the bike.
