They won't rust, they are zinc-plated...plus, spring-steel is part stainless-steel, so they wouldn't rust without the zinc-plating anyway.
I do agree that they are pretty ugly, but they are the lightest, strongest solution made for skids. I prefer 2mm titanium myself, HCR Ti skids specifically, but the RCS ones are nice for strength and durability.

If they were stainless why would they zinc coat them? thats just dumb! Once the zinc wears off which it will (because they are skids) they will rust. IMHO nothing is better than ti skids period, anything else is just a compromise.
