Flm makes some outer drive cups that fit. Idk how tough they are tho

Tape will only hold for so long and I have never seen any packing tape that is stickier than gorilla tape. I would give fishing line a try. Wrapping the fishing line around the outside if the tire between the tread blocks, a couple wraps around in a few places, tie it in a knot and add a couple drops of CA glue to the knot.

Yea I have done this too. I have a set of Proline 40 series Road Rage 2 wheels with dental floss wrapped on them in the two center treads. two wraps tied and glued, with black shoe die over them so you cannot see that it is there. They are for my high speed project. They are also Axial beadlock rims, with a couple drops of gorilla glue between the inner bead and the metal ring to aid in holding the tires together at higher speeds. Plus each wheel once fully assembled have been maticulously balanced in order to keep the power transfer smooth and reduce any vibration that can cause handling problems.

I have to say after driving it again today with both 2s and 3s lipos to compare them, 3s is just flat out nearly uncontrollable and is really hard on the truck, even with 40% punch control. I may or may not stick with 6S. I'm gonna up punch to 75% and try it again but once those tires start ballooning, control becomes a real issue. I've already notice excessive wear on the dogbones, drive cups and my front right wheel is starting to strip at the hex nut. All this from what I can visually see on the truck without taking it apart on only three 6s runs.

Edit: Holy hell! Upon further inspection one of the dogbone broke pins has broken off and one of the rear diff bearings blew its seal and is a complete mess. My next order at the LHS is gonna be an expensive one, grrr.....

What speed are you geared for? Maybe lower the pinion gear one or two teeth. No doubt that you are still going to have an awful lot of torque to deal with, but you may be able to gain a little bit more control of your wheel spin and handling. Testing testing testing just like the big boys have to do in order to figure out exactly what works and what does not. Once you try a few different setups and tweek everything you will ba able to find exactly what works for you.

too bad you didnt buy matching 3s lipos to your 2s lipos, then you could have ran 5s, IMHO 5s is the sweet spot

Thats like putting a blown bigblock in a peg leg car with a turbo 350 trans. Its either going to break or spin the tires forever. 6s is plenty and will most likely still beat a 12s setup on a track. If its a tractor pulling contest thats a different story.
