The NMB bearing are ok up to 100K RPM (to be confirmed).
The castle rotor is ok up to 60K RPM, maybe more, there is always a safety gap I think....
But if the rotor blows at 65K RPM, there is maybe a critical risk to damage the ESC too.

Just because you put 10s on the your truck does not mean that the motor will do that RPM. The rated RPM is "unloaded" so the load that is placed on the motor by your gearing means that it will not rev out as high

The neu motors Kv is given at max efficiency, reached when the motor is loaded.
When I ran a Kv test with my NEU/CC 2200Kv motor unloaded I found 2500Kv, so I wouldn't try the NEU/CC 1520 on 10S anyway. I think 8S is more than enough with this motor ^^

http://www.bigsquidrc.com/mamba-xl-1...ss-conversion/

I know we've all seen these pics in the other thread, but what caught my eye was the comment in the article: "The ESC is actually available now, the motor and conversion kit will be hitting in about 2 weeks."

So what's the deal? Anyone seen these available? Or did I miss something in a different thread?

So what's gonna be the big difference between the 12s car and 12s air? You still need to use mechanical brakes. 10s can handle motor brakes :) oh.... I get it.

well regardless of whether it's in a plane or on the ground with a fan, they are both air cooled. The main difference is startup of the motor, ground based RC draws much heavier current trying to get the vehicle moving compared to a fan/prop.
