Some interesting viewpoints, definitely..

Definitely didn't think of some of the reasons that some people raised on this thread..

Anyone have a counter-argument on why they should be banned?
I could see it as, they desensitize peoples emotions towards death, and the other such (in some cases, I guess), and can also spark the interest in weaponry which could lead to mass killings, by deduction, or turn out to be massive gun nuts and game hunters, etc.

If a law does pass banning all "violent" video games, what will end up constituting "Violence", and how far will the game banning go... In addition to a game ban, people (Especially minors) will just find other ways to get them, as well as playing them. Look at how many potheads, crackheads and such are still on the street!

Wouldn't banning a game also violate some sort of law, amendment, or right of what we can do and what we can't? (Like what if the Gov't shut down all media... Doesn't that violate the right of speech... Given they don't make up a weird, "legitimate" excuse?)

Games could be considered time-wasters, in a good way; towards those "Crackheads/Potheads" or violent kids that shouldn't be roaming the streets, instead they're playing these games. I guess this could also have a negative influence...
