So Bodonutz, you run your Castle 1717 on 8S? No issues. I was going to try eventually (when I get the MMMXL) but wasn't sure if it was up to it.

I'm geared for 47mph and the RPMs are right at the thresehold of max rpm and still runs way under max temps. Wicked torque and speed.


I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

When a motor is rated for kv, isn't that an unloaded rating?

8S is what I have in mind for the 1717 also.

Between a little punch control and maybe a little torque control, tame the beast just a little to lessen those amp draw spikes?

What kind of timing are you running with your Bondo?
