making a capacitor bank. - 01.17.2011, 12:57 AM

hey guys. i am going to start using my mamba max in my SC truck build, and ordered some of these to make a capacitor bank.

have any of you made a bank before?

what are your tips for doing it, or can i just wire it up and solder away like this guy did?

what do you think?

We build them often at work. With caps that small you don't really have anything to worry about so solder away.

I would insulate the bare wires wen you have finished the soldering. Something like hot glue or liquid electrical tape should do.

What would the benefit be of doing this? And is it replacing the OE caps in the MM controller?

as far as i have read from the brains on here:
helps out with voltage spikes from the batteries.
will also help over heating of the ESC
but they can add a more scientific explanation.

it does not replace the stock caps. its wired directly to the ESC battery wires.
