Check the formula for calculating the power the motor can use. The amp levels you can use will vary with the voltage and the wind. However for more voltage and motor resistance the aount of current you can draw falls

You're correct, don't forget to calculate the efficiencies. The 1.5Y supposedly only good for ~65 Amps maximum, whereas the 1.5D is good for ~113A according to Neu's Spec from their website.

Brushless dont make any power -but they are efficient converters. For more power processing go to a larger motor. The Neus are as good as it gets outside the truly exotic and mega buck solar racer motors. Others will catch up.

The batteries make power and there seems to be no slowing in the pace of development there. And they have about another 30% of current power to go before they get to thepractical limits of lipo (cobalt) development.

Especially in cars motrs are often high rpm and current hungry. This means their max efficiency is outside or toward the upper reaches of the power systems operating range.

Cars might spike to 3500w BUT 95% of the operation will be under 30% of that figure so its a good idea to work that into motor selection, then you will have quite long runtimes as well.

Also cars use 36-40mm motors but by far the best (torque) Neus for cars IMO (lower voltages) are the 1900s they are very light and very effective and deliver excellent power to weight figures for the model and they are cheap!

Sparky, if you want the most Wattage out of the motors... How many cells do you plan on running first of all?..

Don't forget about the ESC..

That's why it is so crucial to have the proper COMBO... Battery, ESC & Motor. I haven't pushed my 1527 to the limits yet, but it is a powerful motor in an 1/8th scale vehicle.
